Agglutination Reaction in Bovine Aboi~.tion

I n the following pages are given the results of a s tudy of the agglut ina t ion tes t in 75 cases of abor t ion of which bacteriological da ta were a t hand. Concerning these da t a and the methods employed in obtaining the results here used to in terpre t our findings, the reader is referred to Dr . Smi th ' s paper , x Al though bacteriological da ta on a much larg&r number of cases were available, ye t in m a n y instances the cows were removed from the herd before samples of blood could be taken. While this work was in progress cer tain discrepancies came to the surface and the search for a focus of infection with Bacillus abortus in the udder was deemed essential b y Dr. Smith. Accordingly the milk from certain selected cases was b rought into the investigation.
